After spending 15 years on Wall Street, Alex Ortiz joined Chapin Hill Advisors, Inc. as the firm’s Client Portfolio Manager.  In this role, Alex has a wide range of responsibilities including tracking the various markets, overseeing client’s portfolios, executing trades, researching potential investment ideas, reviewing and analyzing new client portfolios, updating clients about their portfolios and the markets as well as overseeing his team of research associates. Alex assists new clients with their transition to Chapin Hill by providing updates on the markets and the client’s portfolio positions as well as managing the transition from their current portfolio to the recommended portfolio. 

Prior to joining Chapin Hill, Alex traded his own capital for a year and was a managing director at Hedge Capital Partners. He was responsible for trading, researching and managing the fund’s portfolio. He also worked at Oppenheimer for twelve years as an equity trader where he was a market maker as well as a proprietary trader.

As a son of a diplomat, Alex has traveled extensively throughout the world and has been exposed to different cultures and languages. He is fluent in four languages. Alex is a terrific athlete and was ranked as the #1 tennis player in Bolivia and #7 in South America as a teenager.
